5th Street SE 000-200 Block Infrastructure Upgrades Project to Begin Monday July 20th

UG Excavating will be commencing construction for the 5th Street SE 000-200 Block infrastructure upgrades project Monday, July 20th.

The work generally includes water sanitary infrastructure replacement, road reconstruction, and related surface restoration. The anticipated completion date is October 19, 2026.

5th Street SE will be closed within the construction limits for the duration of the project. Broadway Avenue and 3rd Avenue SE are expected to remain open. 1st Avenue SE and 2nd Avenue SE will be local traffic only during construction, with residents and the public asked to always follow the posted detour signage.

Vehicle access from the front of properties and driveways within the construction area will not be available during construction, and pedestrian access may be restricted at times.

Mindful Mornings Return to Lions Park for Summer!

Join the Recovery Alberta team in partnership with the Redcliff FCSS for the return of Mindful Mornings in Lions Park every Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:30am!

Anyone is welcome to join the FREE drop-in activities, including coffee, treats, mindful activities, and stories showcasing the Emotions Aquarium creatures!

No registration is required and children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Motorized Vehicles are Prohibited on Redcliff Trail Systems

The Town of Redcliff has received reports of motorized vehicles being operated on Town trail systems.

For the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, families, and pets, motorized vehicles are prohibited on all Town of Redcliff pathways and trails under the Town’s Park, Recreational or Public Areas Bylaw, unless specifically authorized by permit. This includes the mountain bike trails maintained in partnership with the 670 Mountain Bike Club.

If you’re riding an ATV, dirt bike, off-highway vehicle (OHV), or any other prohibited motorized vehicle, please stay off the trails and use only areas where these vehicles are legally permitted.

A reminder that in Alberta, anyone operating or riding on a motorized vehicle is required to wear a helmet. Children under the age of 18 are also required to wear a helmet while riding any bicycle or other cycle, whether powered or not.

Helmets save lives, and our goal is to prevent injuries before they happen.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in respecting our parks and trail system and helping keep them safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Back Alley Maintenance Responsibilities Under Nuisance and Unsightly Premises Bylaw

Following an extended period of rainy weather, grass and weeds have grown rapidly throughout the community. Town crews are actively maintaining public spaces, and we ask residents to do their part by inspecting and maintaining the alley adjacent to their property.

Under the Town of Redcliff’s Nuisance and Unsightly Premises Bylaw, property owners are responsible for maintaining the alley from their property line to the centre line of the alley.

Please take a few minutes to check for:

• Grass and weeds that require cutting.

• Fallen tree branches, garbage, debris, and discarded materials.

• Trees and shrubs that have become overgrown and extend into the alley.

Well-maintained alleys help keep our community clean, safe, and accessible. They improve neighbourhood appearance, reduce fire hazards, discourage illegal dumping, and ensure safe access for waste collection, utility crews, emergency services, and residents.

Help Keep Our Community Safe This Summer: Watch for Pedestrians, Cyclists, and Children

With school now out for the summer, more children, families, cyclists, and pedestrians will be outdoors on our streets and pathways. Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe.

Under Alberta law, all cyclists under 18 years of age are required to wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet when riding a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or inline skates. A helmet is one of the simplest ways to help prevent serious head injuries.

All cyclists must obey all traffic laws, signs, and signals such as riding in the same direction as traffic and using hand signals when turning.

When using trails and pathways cyclists must also slow down for pedestrians, give audible warnings or use a bell when passing, and be courteous and respectful when sharing trails and pathways.

Drivers are asked to be extra vigilant throughout the summer and anticipate more children playing and crossing streets unexpectantly. Remember to slow down in residential areas and near parks.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and enjoyable summer for everyone on Redcliff!
