Fire Ban in Effect
The Town of Redcliff has enacted a fire ban effective at midnight on June 29, 2021.
Extreme temperatures and very low precipitation levels have created conditions that make grass and wildland fires a very serious concern.
Until further notice, burning of any kind is not permitted, including open burning, wood-burning fire pits, and charcoal BBQ use. Exempt from this ban are gas or propane-fueled fire rings and BBQs, which are to be used with extreme caution.
The fire risk is extreme. The vegetation on our hills and coulees are tinder dry, and something as simple as a spark created by a falling rock can, and will, start a fire. Likewise, ashes flicked out of a window from a driving vehicle will start a fire in these conditions. Do NOT toss cigarette butts out of a vehicle window at any time.
