PUBLIC NOTICE TO ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF REDCLIFF, PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
Redcliff Cypress Regional Waste Management Authority Loan Bylaw
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Redcliff, in the Province of Alberta, has given first reading to Bylaw No. 1879/2019 which will, upon final passage and approval, authorize the Town of Redcliff to loan monies to Redcliff Cypress Regional Waste Management Authority for the purpose of upgrading their facilities including a Public Drop-off, Operations Building, and Storage Dome at the Redcliff Cypress Regional Landfill. The total amount of the loan will be $1,000,000.00 and is to be repaid over a period of ten (10) years.
NOTICE is hereby given by the Council of the Town of Redcliff that, unless a sufficient petition of the electors for a vote on Bylaw No. 1879/2019 is filed with the Chief Administrative Officer, as provided for by the terms of Section 231 of the Municipal Government Act, the Council of Redcliff will proceed to second and third readings and may pass the said Bylaw. Pursuant to Section 223 of the Municipal Government Act, the petition must be signed by electors of the Town of Redcliff equal in number to at least 10% of the population. A petition for a vote of the electors on this proposed bylaw must be received by the Chief Administrative officer within 15 days of the last publication of this notice. Further requirements of the petition are provided in Section 224 of the Municipal Government Act.
A copy of the proposed Bylaw may be inspected by the public during normal office hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at the office of the Manager of Legislative and Land Services, Town Hall (#1 – 3rd Street NE, Redcliff, AB, T0J 2P0) or at www.redcliff.ca.
All persons interested are hereby notified and they are required to govern themselves accordingly.
