Road Maintenance
The Public Works Department is responsible for the winter road maintenance. Their goal is to provide a level of service that will prevent or reduce accident or injury to residents, to reduce the economic losses to the community, and to facilitate the response to emergencies by Police, Fire, and Ambulance services.
Winter road maintenance activities include the application of sand/salt combinations and when driving conditions deteriorate the plowing and removal of snow to selected roadways. The primary goal during any snowstorm is to keep primary and collector streets open and safe for the motoring public. Priority is given to Emergency Routes, School Zones, and the Downtown Commercial Area.
Fall Street Sweeping:
Keep a look out for our sweeper, there will be no street signs posted as crews move quickly.
Starting October 16th, we will be starting in Zone 1 and moving to 2 and 3, dependent on street cleanliness and debris.
Zone 4,5,6 will be started the week of the 30th until complete.
Please be patient with crews as we are analyzing our zones and priority areas. Thank you.
