UG Excavating will be commencing construction for the 5th Street SE 000-200 Block infrastructure upgrades project Monday, July 20th.
The work generally includes water sanitary infrastructure replacement, road reconstruction, and related surface restoration. The anticipated completion date is October 19, 2026.
5th Street SE will be closed within the construction limits for the duration of the project. Broadway Avenue and 3rd Avenue SE are expected to remain open. 1st Avenue SE and 2nd Avenue SE will be local traffic only during construction, with residents and the public asked to always follow the posted detour signage.
Vehicle access from the front of properties and driveways within the construction area will not be available during construction, and pedestrian access may be restricted at times.
